I searched all around and this was the best deal I could find for a tomahawk like this. The quality is excellent and it is very sharp. I haven't had it long, so I don't know how it holds up over time, but at this price point it is a great value. Sure, you could spend a lot more and maybe find a better one, but for the money this SOG tomahawk is the best choice in my opinion.

This is an great tool and pieced together well. The handle is plastic but it doesn't bother me. It's put together very well and I don't think I'll worry about just breaking like some people say. Worth the money, this thing is sweet.

very good balance, very sharp,i wrapped my handle for a better grip,i would prefer a more rounded blade , this how ever is not a deterant for this hawk, will be awesome should one encounter any zombies . . .

Nice design, handle seems sturdy, but I am not sure how durable the handle material is. The blade head is a little too thin to be used as a traditional hatchet. This limits the practicality of the tool. The SOG Tomahawk is good at severing branches and cutting down smaller saplings, however it would stick and was not very efficient at splitting 2 to 3 inch wood chunks.

After reading many of the reviews, I saw that the pros outweighed the cons. My wife got me this for Father's day. I have to say, this is a pretty good hawk. It was super sharp out of the box (I have the cut to prove it, and yes I was a dummy for cutting myself). The weight was good and felt good in my hand. I haven't had to throw a tomahawk in years, and have no need to, but I tried it anyway. I still had it and it was on target. I tried cutting a 2 inch thick piece of pine and made short order of it withing 2 minutes (yes I timed myself like a geek). Now if I were still in the Army, I would probably drop the money for some of the more expensive hawks. I won't say that this is a perfect product. For what most people are going to use it for, I think it is awesome! Let's be honest, how many of us are going to throw one of these in our daily lives? If you compete in throwing competitions, I am pretty sure you are going to invest in a little higher end. For the camper or just putting together a bug out bag, this is the perfect tool.
