Product Description For multiple cat homes the "mega" size of the LME9000 is the perfect solution. The unit comes with 4 waste receptacles and 4 carbon filters and an ionic air cleaner to eliminate odor. The paw cleaning ramp reduced the amount of litter tracked outside the box. Light sleepers will appreciate the sleep timer that can be set to prevent the unit from activating during the night.

Piece of smelly crap. July 28, 2010 Jaime Mcgrath (NJ USA) Littermaid sent me this one after thier last piece of crap I bought came with a burned out motor. This one has a weak motor, and it fails to scoop anything. It's going in the garbage. Stay far away from any of the littermaid products.
Great Pooper Scooper! July 26, 2010 Niiki I had one of these litter boxes before, and it had busted within weeks of me buying it. This one is of a much better quality and I couldn't be happier! It was less expensive too!
Good old days July 26, 2010 David Alling (TUCSON, AZ. United States) The Littermaid Elite was the worst purchase that I have ever maid (pun intended).....No muscle to scoop the poop....and the motor died after little use. Should have returned it. Now, we have it unplugged, and the most expensive cat litter box we own. I had a LM900 before and it worked great for a few years. Should have purchased another one before the ?...Elite...? Just now ordered another LM900. Hope it works like before.....Was sad and happy the ?Elite? had
so many negative Amazon reviews!!
Worked Okay For A While, But Not Worth Price July 21, 2010 A. Mohrmann I've had my LM9000 since October '08, about 20 months. In about April this year, or 17 months into use, the rake stopped working completely - which defeated the purpose of the box. And, of course, the warranty lasts only a year.
I'll stop for a moment to make this point - the mattress I bought two years ago Labor Day has a warranty for 15 years and cost $800. The LM9000 has a 1-year warranty and costs $150. Going by the LM9000's price, my mattress would have had a 5 and a half year warranty. And you know what? I probably wouldn't have bought it, because that would have told me the manufacturers thought it was a piece of cr@p. My glasses cost half as much as the LM9000 and had a warranty of twice as long!
But back to my review: before the rake stopped working, the box was okay. Definitely not worth more than, say, $50 or $60, especially with $20 for a box of six receptacles, but okay. I have two cats and each receptacle lasted about a week, and I generally needed to scoop out big clumps 1-3 times per week. It was still an improvement over scooping every day, and lining the receptacle with a plastic bag meant I could 'reuse' them.
I will second/third/umpteenth the problems other people noted:
1) Raking motor is really loud. It didn't wake me up out of a sound sleep, but only just. It scared my cats!
2) Rake sits about an inch into the litter tray. My cats, for some reason, like to urinate in the corner back there; the urine clumps up around the rake and the rake wouldn't move. I would frequently have to scoop that out in order for the rake to do its job again.
3) The ionizing air filter...things. I didn't notice any difference in odor when I used the ones included and after I ran out. Didn't work.
4) Litters falls between the cracks around the receptacles and onto the floor. A LOT of litter. I used my vacuum to get it all up, and then had to empty it!
I called the Littermaid help line today and I did the reset procedure - which didn't work, of course. And since my box is way past the warranty, I am SOL - or, rather, knee-deep in it. I'm going back to a regular plastic box with pan liners and just resigning myself to scooping - after all, once the LM9000 stopped raking, I had to anyway!
Read, and Heed the Warning! July 21, 2010 Mathew Alexander (Mobile, AL) This is one of the worst purchases I have ever made. It is dirtier than other litter boxes and requires more work.
When I decided to buy one, I figured there were just a lot of naysayers on here. That is because I desperately wanted to believe that there was an easy way to deal with cat litter. Don't believe the lie, friend. You will pay 90% more for this than a cheap litter box, and do just as much if not more work. Listen, and do not make the mistakes of those who have gone on before you.
Do not buy this!
