Good backpack November 11, 2009 R. Redenour I really like this backpack. I was replacing my old backpack that I have had since freshman year of high school. (I'm a junior in college now) I wanted something that could hold my books, had side pockets, and was cute. I've gotten several compliments on it about the color scheme. With nothing in it, the backpack is very light. Some backpacks are really heavy just by themselves. I really like the zipper at the top that is supposed to hold your ipod. I don't really use it for that; I use it for my cell phone and it works great. I also like the front zipper pocket. It's easy to get to things that I use often. The middle pocket has a velcro pocket in it and I find that useful for holding things I don't want sitting in the bottom of my backpack. I like the side pocket on it too. It is large enough to hold my coffee thermos without it slipping out. I had a problem with it falling out with my old backpack because the side pockets were a little too small. This backpack won't hold a laptop though. Don't buy it for a laptop unless you have one of the really small ones and have a case for it. There's no laptop pocket. Yup, overall, I really like this backpack.
Great Bag for College October 26, 2009 LuvtheElves (Rustbelt, USA) I got this backpack to replace my very old Jansport that finally bit the dust. Although I was skeptical because I loved my old bag dearly, I was very pleased when this one arrived. The hot pink color is fun but still goes with most everything. The bag is big enough for all of my textbooks and notebooks, and even my laptop. It has enough pockets to keep the ephemera required in daily life on campus accessible(phone, keys, iPod, pens, calculator, umbrella, trashy novels, etc.) The water bottle holder on the side is really nice and fits a Nalgene-type bottle perfectly.
Not really waterproof September 14, 2009 Rhonda M. Black (Edenton, NC United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really wanted a waterproof backpack for my daughter because it rains alot in Maryland where she is at college, but when it really pours down rain, the books and stuff inside still get wet. Otherwise it's a good backpack.
Highly Reccomend August 5, 2009 L. Blech (NJ) Bought this for my daughter, who is going to college. Great size, and great appearance. Arrived quickly.
Don't make'em like they used to! It's a pain in the neck!!! June 17, 2009 M. Ellison (Paradise, CA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The straps on this backpack are too wide (almost twice as wide as my old COMFORTABLE Jansport) and cut weirdly into my neck/shoulder. Without even putting anything in this backpack it hurt me to have it on (I guess it hit a weird pressure point in my neck or something). From reading other people's review it must be a great backpack to some people, but to me it was awful. Sure, it looks cool, but I'd much rather be comfortable than cool. Also it seems to be much more cheaply constructed than my old Jansport. I bought one in 1998, and the material just seems thicker than that of the new Jansports. Also, the zippers on this pack seem to catch the inner lip easily (A problem I didn't have with my old Jansport). Because of all of this I'm returning my backpack and looking for a new one AGAIN.
